SeaLake
Enduring North American businesses, built with the people who already run them.
SeaLake Capital is an independent private investment firm. We are deliberately selective. We acquire established businesses in North America and operate them for the long term, in partnership with the owners and managers who built them.
Thomas Adamo
Mr. Adamo provides the firm's financial discipline, with a background encompassing M&A advisory, investment banking, and quantitative trading, complemented by a degree in mathematics from Stanford University.
Magnus Hepburn
Mr. Hepburn provides the firm's operational discipline, having founded and operated his own ventures. Most recently, he has worked across multiple disciplines at a large American manufacturer, spanning sales, operations, supply chain, and personnel.
We buy businesses and build them with the people who already run them.
What we look for
We look for businesses with a wide moat. Physical work, real assets, and customers who stay because what the company does is difficult to replace. The kind of advantage that gets built slowly and cannot be bought.
Behind every one of them is an owner who built it and a team who runs it, and that is who we partner with. Owners are welcome to stay invested alongside us. Managers get equity, capital, and a say in where it goes. Continuity is the default. The person who has spent thirty years learning this business should be the person still building it, with real backing behind them.
Held indefinitely. Not sold on a schedule, not carved up for cash.
A narrow mandate, stated plainly.
We are operators first. We close quickly, communicate plainly, and treat the seller and their team with the seriousness the work deserves.
How we work
Most sellers we meet have spent decades building something real. They deserve a buyer who shows up prepared, asks honest questions, and follows through. We come with our own capital, a clear thesis, and the willingness to move at the speed the situation requires.
After close, we work alongside the management team. The people running the business keep running it. We invest where it makes the company stronger and keep the culture the seller spent a career building.
